I am the Scholar in Residence at Atlantic University and have been professionally involved in parapsychology since the 1980s. I have had the pleasure of working in the field in places such as the University of Virginia, the Parapsychology Foundation and the Institute for Parapsychology (now Rhine Research Center). In addition to education, my work has centered on the psychological study of out-of-body experiences and other phenomena and on providing a historical perspective in parapsychological studies. In recent times I have conducted survey studies of the general population with AU's Director of Academic and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Nan Zingrone, on such topics as depersonalization experiences and imaginary companions. My scientific and scholarly papers have appeared in such journals as Australian Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, Imagination, Cognition and Personality, Journal of Near-Death Studies, Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, Journal of Parapsychology, Journal of Scientific Exploration, and the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research.
